Add paperback books, or just offer Kindle?

I have been asked to offer my first humorous ebook, “Hard Hat Dazed” as a paperback book. Although I can understand the reasoning for this request I am conflicted about doing so. Let me explain.

To offer any Kindle ebook as a paperback I have to use the CreateSpace process that Amazon has. The process is a print on demand system, and even though it is somewhat complex, it is nothing I can’t figure out. What my concern is is the added costs of offering a paperback version with such a small book.

The recommended minimum page count for CreateSpace is 100 pages. My book is only 50 pages. The research I have done tells me that most readers would be upset at paying somewhere between $5 and $10 for a paperback that is only 50 pages long. Hell, I would too.

What do you think? I would like to hear your thoughts.
